Advancement Via Individual Determination

AVID’s mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. At Early College High School, approximately two-thirds of our students are AVID students. These students are taking an AVID Elective course to help assist them to possess the skills necessary to be college and career ready upon graduation so they are successful in higher education.

Our AVID system shows that our students are achieving academically by fulfilling the UC prerequisites in order to be 4-year college eligible upon graduation, completing college courses successfully through various local colleges while in high school, and are better prepared for the ACT and SAT exams for college acceptance. Our AVID students have a school attendance rate greater than 98% and are committed to be 4-year college bound students.
