Community-Based Support Programs

At ECHS, we are fortunate to have developed partnerships with the following community-based organizations to offer our students out-of-classroom experiences to enhance their capacity in college and career readiness, in addition to community service. All of these organizations either provide opportunities, workshops, programs or direct assistance to our students in the areas outlined above at no cost to the student or family. Assistance League Newport-Mesa

Assistance League of Newport-Mesa has served the community for more than seventy-five years and is unique in that we serve the community according to its needs. Throughout our history, we have grown with the needs of the community. In the 1940s, we helped organize the Red Cross Thrift Shop and book loan program for servicemen. We began to provide school children an opportunity to receive dental care and we presented our first scholarship to a graduating high school senior. Freedom Committee of Orange County

The Freedom Committee of Orange County is a non-profit organization of veterans, not a veteran service organization located in Costa Mesa, CA. Our mission is to bring Living History into the classrooms by sharing stories from all generations. The members of the Freedom Committee of Orange County bring with them a “Living History” of WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Middle East. To learn more visit Freedom Committee of Orange County website.

Girls Inc. of Orange County

Girls Inc. of Orange County has been a respected member of the non-profit community since 1954. The mission of Girls Inc. is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We put our mission into practice through the Girls Inc. experience that equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow into healthy, educated and independent adults. Kiwanis International Club of Costa Mesa

Let's Be Kind

Let’s Be Kind provides a purposeful act of kindness to create a safe unifying culture on campus. Students share a dream that one day, all school campuses will be a community of unique, talented, KIND people, working together for unity and inclusion. The hope is that the school campus community will be proactive in spreading kindness, and as they are intentional with one another they WILL make a difference in each other’s lives. Project Hope Alliance

Project Hope Alliance grew out of a schoolteacher’s passion for assisting local homeless children with their education – with her car serving as the first classroom. This personal outreach program soon became an organized undertaking called Project HOPE, which stood for “Homeless Outreach Program in Education.” Now called Project Hope Alliance, the organization remains committed to providing homeless children and youth from kindergarten through age 24 with the tools and opportunities that they need to learn their way to a better tomorrow. Robyne's Nest

Robyne’s Nest provides at-risk and homeless students, who have little to no parental support, with the resources to complete high school and pursue a path to self-sufficiency. Our students are referred to us by the Huntington Beach and Newport Mesa school districts and students must be alcohol and drug-free. Our mission to keep students in school is a proactive approach to steer unsupported youth away from a life of drugs, crime, homelessness, human trafficking, or early parenthood. Straight Talk

Founded by a group of active parents in 1971, Straight Talk Clinic was initially a local community response to growing evidence of illicit drug use among children and teenagers attending local schools. The mission of Straight Talk Counseling is to make available a variety of mental health, substance abuse, and rehabilitative services to individuals and families in need, for whom access or utilization of such services is limited, restricted or otherwise unavailable. Waymakers

A nonprofit resource building safer communities by helping people find their way. Whether redirecting youth offenders, helping sheltered children get back on track, unifying troubled families, resolving community conflicts or empowering victims of violence, Waymakers clears the path so clients can advance beyond crisis.
