Principal's Letter

Hello Early College High School Families,

We are coming off one of the greatest school years in ECHS's 18-year history based on our staff's and students' accomplishments. New highs were established with the number of ECHS graduates their IGETC, Associate of Arts/Science Degrees, and scholarships. Our schoolwide GPA continues to be above 3.25 in all courses taken (high school, ROP, and college) putting our students in a great position as strong candidates for the colleges and universities they'll apply to.

In addition, ECHS was named a 2023 PBIS Platinum Award High School for the third time in our school's history along with having earned the 2023 National Blue Ribbon School from the U.S. Department of Education (the first NMUSD secondary school to ever receive this designation since 2000). These recognitions are a pure reflection of our entire ECHS Team aiming to provide excellence for our students and families!

As we enter the 2024-2025 school year, we are in a position to earn the 2024 PBIS Platinum Award for the positive and successful practices we have in place to support our students with academics and mental health. We will continue to serve our students with 11 full-time high school teachers and 12 Coastline College adjunct professors while they have access to a high school counselor, college counselor and college dual enrollment director.

I encourage our parents and families to be partners with ECHS. Our PTSA is doing tremendous work supporting our school's culture and family engagement as they just set an all-time high with membership this past school year. Your involvement is vital as we continue to enhance your child's educational experience and opportunities. Please consider taking part in our PTSA this coming school year as there will be many ways you can offer your service.
