ECHS Mission Statement

Early College High School genuinely engages a wide spectrum of students by offering a complete and rigorous curriculum, supported by technology and aligned to student interests and educational standards. Flexible and innovative coursework with an applied learning focus is provided in a challenging and supportive environment. Students will earn a high school diploma and transferrable general education college credits, enabling them to attend college and pursue a career path.

 

ECHS Vision Statement

Early College High School is a collaborative effort between the Newport-Mesa Unified School District and Coastline Community College. The program is structured to provide successful, challenging, and meaningful experiences for all students. ECHS is an academic program intended to enable students to pursue postsecondary education and a career path. Students are offered the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and meet university entrance requirements. Students also take college courses for which they receive college units through dual enrollment.

College Application Success Campaign Event

Tuesday, Nov 21

Our Class of 2018 will be submitting their college applications on this day and taking part in a luncheon with their parents and community members celebrating this important step in continuing their education. All 9th-11th graders will be taking part in breakout college panel discussion sessions on this day as well. A special B Day bell schedule will be run where class periods will be 75 minutes long.

Environmental Issues Fair

Come see our 9th graders present on their Environmental Issues Project at the Muth Interpretive Center at Back Bay from 6-8:30 p.m. Judging results of the projects will be held from 8:30-9 p.m.

Holiday Bake Sale for students and staff during lunch supporting our ASB.

Winter Movie Night

ECHS Movie Night will be in the MPR from 6-8 p.m. Food and beverages for purchase will be provided. Come enjoy Disney's A Nightmare Before Christmas on our new big screen.

Winter Music Concert

Come and see our ECHS Guitar Class and Vocal Ensemble Club perform under the direction of Coastline Community College Professor Dmitry Koudymov for our 2nd annual Winter Music Concert at 7 p.m. in our MPR. Admission is free.

Come to Jim Scott Stadium at 7 p.m. to watch our current ECHS soccer players take on the ECHS alumni. Admission is free.

Financial Literacy Seminar #3

Saturday, Dec 16

Come join us for the third of four Financial Literacy Seminars hosted by the PTSA and presented by the Wells Fargo Community Outreach Program. The third seminar is titled Calculating the Net Cost of College. All students and families are welcome to attend this free seminar from 10:30 a.m.-Noon. Spanish interpretation will be provided.
